Want to attend the FREE Machine Tool Summer Academy at LBCC? Students will also have the option to sign up for a free college credit class related to Machine Tool during Summer term!

Precision Machined Mini-Marshmallow Launcher

Do you like making and fixing things? Do you like using tools? Are you creative and like working with your hands? Do you want to know how to use the industrial tools that make everything in our modern manufactured world from trucks and tractors to computer chips and rocket ships? In this camp you will be operating a variety of manual and Computer Numeric Control (CNC) manufacturing machines to make a Precision Machined Mini-Marshmallow Launcher. 

Safety is our #1 priority. To ensure the safest possible environment the following Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times on the shop floor:

• Safety Glasses 

  • 1 pair will be provided

  • Prescription glasses may be worn in place of  Safety Glasses

• Sturdy closed-toed shoes

  • Shoes do not need to be steel-toe

• Full length leg coverings 

  • Pants, leggings, skirts, etc...

• Long hair/beard should be worn up, tied back or constrained

Summer Academies are for rising 10th, 11th, and 12th grade high school students.
